Wylde Q. Chicken Wylderness Preservation Fund

University Laboratory High School

People are always asking us, "Isn't there something I can do to help free the youth of today from the shackles of blandness and conformity? Can I help to promote more creative weirdness among high school students?"

Well, actually, nobody has ever asked us that. But if they did, we would say:   YES !

You can help support the Wylde Q. Chicken Award by contributing to our Wylderness Preservation Fund.

The Uni Class of 1972 has created a $10,000 endowment fund. The interest from this fund is enough to cover the annual award and associated expenses. But we'd like to build up the endowment fund so we can afford to increase the amount of the award someday, because otherwise the ravages of inflation will eventually reduce the $150 award to chicken feed.

How You Can Help

Here's how you can make a tax deductible contribution to the fund:

  1. Make out your check to:   University of Illinois Foundation
  2. On the memo line, write:   Wylde Q. Chicken
  3. Mail it to:
    Marianne Downey
    University High School
    1212 W. Springfield Ave.
    Urbana, IL 61801
    MC 254
  4. Pat yourself on the back, pour yourself a root beer, and bask in knowledge that you have done your part to preserve at least one small patch of wylderness in America.

The Wylde Q. Chicken Award is funded by the Uni Class of 1972 with support from the Uni High faculty and administration.
